What are the ratios for each group?
At Malvern Day Camp, your child’s camp day is planned around various camp activities, and they will interact with different counselors, specialists, and directors throughout the day. The counselor-to-camper ratios are as follows:
- 5-year-olds: 6 campers to 1 counselor
- 6-9-year-olds: 8 campers to 1 counselor
- 10-14-year-olds: 10 campers to 1 counselor
What does it mean to be accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA)?
ACA accreditation means that your child’s camp cares enough to undergo a thorough review of its operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to ensure that current practices at your child’s camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety.
